There is a backlog of children in Iraq born with heart defects, correctable problems in their heart that threaten their lives. Already the most common birth defect in the world, heart defects are one of the leading causes of death for children in Iraq, and this is why we’re here—to save their lives.

Most children born with these defects require an operation, but Iraq’s lack of trained doctors and nurses make their search hopelessly impossible. So they wait.

Thankfully, though, heart surgery is now available to these children. A child's heart surgery now costs $650!
