Dear Sponsors,
Thank you so much for your generous giving and support of Selamawit, I was reminded as I read back over some of Levi's past newsletters, what a truly dramatic change we are all making in Selamawit's life! The government orphanages get children like Selamawit dropped off, and there can be 5 kids sharing a bed. As Levi said, so often these kids have not experienced love, so when they are told one morning that you are moving to one of the forever families at Elevate Orphan. None of this makes any sense to them.
Lord, we thank You so much that You have chosen Selamawit to be delivered from the over crowded government orphanages, with little nurturing and oversight and have placed her in a forever family with a mom, auntie, siblings, her own bed, food, clothing, education and a church family. Lord, we thank You for giving Selamawit a hope and a future. Please heal all the hurts in her heart. Please help her mom, auntie, and siblings encourage her. Please help her trust You day by day, and though her family like all of us are flawed, teach Selamawit what it means to trust and be a part of a family. May the day tell her of Your unfailing love! We pray that as she sees that she is fed day by day and cared for day by day that she grows in feeling a part of a family. We ask Lord one day, Selamawit might say with the Psalmist, "It was good that I was afflicted, that I might learn thy decrees" - Lord we know it is not Your will for any of these little ones to suffer so, please bring redemption to Selamawit and all the kids at Elevate Orphan, and give us wisdom how to love and care for all widows and orphans. Lord for those sponsors with their own families, I pray for wisdom as we are parenting our own kids, and how the enemy whispers lies to them. Lord, be huge, do a mighty work in all of us that we might be a fragrance of Christ! In Jesus Redeeming name!
Again, thank you all so much for supporting Selamawit! We had such a good report that the children are doing well.
Warmly, Lisa Rimback
on behalf of Elevate Orphan.
