Tournament will be moved to July 12th if conditions are bad on May 31st
Teams of 1 or 2, one fly per team, float style (canoe/kayak/rental, raft, Drift Boat)
$100 entry fee per team
Early Bird Special: $90 fee per team if you sign up prior to 2/1/24
Individual Kayaks can enter for only $50
2 Brackets
One-Fly: Everyone begins their day in the one-fly bracket
When an angler loses their fly, they can no longer count fish length towards their one-fly score
If you lose said fly, you can move into a general bracket with your full box
Upon moving to consolation bracket, the one-fly score is final
General Bracket: Upon losing their chosen one-fly, an angler may use any fly they have
At this point the teams one-fly score is final
The team will then begin a new score for the consolation bracket
Score is an aggregate of the length of the top 5 fish for the team E.g. if the boats biggest 5 fish are 16, 15, 14.5, 10 and 14 inches, the team score is 69.5
Only Smallmouth Bass count towards team score
Limit 1 boat per team, maximum team size of 2
Limit 1 fly pattern (1 individual fly per angler) while competing in the one-fly bracket
E.g. if a team of 2 chooses a size 2 black wooly bugger, each angler gets 1 wooly bugger
Flies must be the same size and color
If an angler loses their selected one-fly, they may start using any fly
Fish caught on other flies will begin counting towards the consolation bracket score
Check-In begins at 7 a.m. at Kings River Outfitters, bring your chosen fly to the check in.
All anglers must be have lines out of water by 3:00pm, though this is subject to change based on flows
Official Check-Out will be at Kings River Outfitters at 4pm
Each team will have 2 scores, 1 for the one-fly bracket and 1 for the consolation bracket
Each score will be the aggregate of the top 5 fish that the team has caught
E.g. if the boats biggest 5 fish are 16, 15, 14.5, 10 and 14 inches, the team score is 69.5
All fish in top 5 aggregate must have picture of fish with measurement and identifier (provided at check-in)
All Fish must be measures with an official catchboard
All fish caught must be released
Only smallmouth bass will count towards aggregate score
All boats must carry a mesh trash bag or something similar
If water gets too high or low on day of tournament and/or there is severe weather, the tournament will be rescheduled
If an angler/team cannot participate in the reschedule date, there will not be a refund
All Catch Boards must be a Hawg Trough or Ketch Brand (links to purchase below, also sold at Bass Pro)
The little aluminum catch boards are tough to use, judge, and have created a ton of confusion that can be easily avoided by using one of the below.

Lines out by 3 p.m., all pictures must be time stamped prior to 3.
All anglers must return to check-out by 4 p.m.
We have been a little lenient with this the previous 2 years, but cannot be as lenient again to be fair to all anglers.
All state, federal, and local laws must be obeyed
Must have valid fishing license (N/A for 15u)
Fish may not be retained for a period of time longer than necessary to capture an acceptable photo, followed by an immediate release
Fish must be handled with BARE WET HANDS
Each fish caught must be released prior to making a new cast
All tournament contestants must have their fish uploaded to TourneyX by 4pm.
Cell phone service is sketchy in the Valley of the Kings, so have a place you know with good service or arrive to Kings River Outfitters with enough time to upload.
There will be WIFI provided at Kings River Outfitters for tournament contestants to upload their photos and tournament directors will be available for trouble shooting.
MOUTH CLOSED AGAINST THE BUMP ON THE BOARD
an open mouth submission photo will receive a 1” penalty per fish. “Open Mouth” is at the judges’ discretion. Anglers may be asked to submit an alternate photo, so take multiple photos.
Bump of the board must be fully visible
The eye of the fish must be completely visible, to ensure the fish is alive at the time of photo.
submissions without a visible eye will be disqualified.
Smallmouth Bass is the only species considered.
No minimum size
Lip clips or other restraining devices are not allowed.
Handling fish with cloth gloves is not allowed.
gloves with a rubber, latex, silicone, or nitrile coating are OK
submissions with cloth gloves touching fish will be Disqualified.
You may touch any part of the fish between the eye and the tail fin
touching the tail fin in a submission is a 1’’ penalty per fish
The tail can be pinched or un-pinched, but must be flat against the measuring device.
a “hovering tail” is a 1’’ penalty per fish.
All lengths to be verified by the Tournament Director via TourneyX
Each fish must be photographed on a bump board (hawg trough or Ketchboard) and include the unique identifier given by Tournament Director at check in to count in the angler’s bag limit
3pm Cutoff for “lines out”
Fish must be submitted and uploaded by 4pm. Exceptions for circumstances will be at the Tournament Director’s discretion.
