Josephine and Julius represent 1.1 million women and children living as refugees in North Uganda. Josephine, like Jesus, had to flee a brutal regime in the middle of the night and seek refuge in a foreign country where her family is dependent on the hospitality and resources of a host nation and the world’s caring people. Josephine and her two sons lost everything in the escape. Now - feeling alone, hungry, with no opportunity to provide for her children, worried about their future, hopeless and wondering if anyone knows or cares. The God who knows her name has compelled us to respond and -- to help His Church know how to best respond. As we love, hug, cry & pray with them -- they experience the arms and heartbeat of Jesus in both practical and spiritual ways. Our heart-connection with them is the bridge that Jesus walks across straight into their hearts and changes their destiny.

When they are discipled by our team both Josephine and her sons will have a different future -- as they learn the power of the Jesus way -- to break with African tribal patterns that continue to fuel wars and personal feuds. Instead, they will be able to build peaceful solutions for their people that will come through forgiveness as they follow and obey The Prince of Peace.
