but we can't tell you what they all are--quite yet. Our house officially went on the market on March 3rd. Will leave it at that, for right now. :)
We apologize--had written a LONG update to you all, our Team of Backers, and apparently forgot to hit "post". Oops. We've had a few things on our minds.
Last week, on March 5th, we were both fingerprinted at the United States Immigration Services office in St. Paul. This is the final step needed to receive our 171H form from USCIS. The 171H form is known in adoption circles as the "golden ticket" to bring adopted children back into the United States. This is the final document to add to our dossier before it gets sent to social services (IBESR) in Haiti.
Our dossier is currently in Chicago being translated at the Haitian Consulate located there. This should be done soon. When we receive our 171H we will overnight that to our agency and it will all be ready to go to Haiti. Soon, my friend, very soon.
SO...we wait. We wait to figure out the housing for our future family of 8. We wait for our dossier to make it to Haiti and for a referral. All these things take time. The timeline we have been given has us bringing kids home as early as the end of this year. The longer timelines tell us Summer 2015. Any way we look at it, it is totally unpredictable.
We are enormously grateful for your support. While we are grateful for the financial support, what we are most grateful for is the idea that by your donation you are telling us that you support ADOPTION. Not everyone feels meant to adopt, for a variety of reasons--but those of us who are could not do it without many people, like you, standing behind us in moral support. We thank you for that. And our future children will thank you forever, for making it possible for them to have a forever family.
God bless you.
