As of last week, we are officially a "Waiting Family". Translation...our profile is on the website and we have made our profile books and they are in the hands of our agency. This was a much longer and daunting process than I originally anticipated, and I am so grateful that it is DONE. Such a relief!
I know many would say that pregnancy is NOT fun, however 9 months of paperwork and extra projects to do when we get home from work each night is also NOT enjoyable...but TOTALLY worth it. I am so so grateful that we have done all that we can do, and are now just waiting on the Lord to provide our precious child. We already love them so much!!
This will probably be the last update to protect our privacy through placement, as well as that of the birth mom but hopefully one day soon you will be able to meet our sweet baby. The timeline of how long it will take until placement varies...could be tomorrow...could be a year from now...we just don't know. My "type A" personality is clinging to a quote we heard this weekend at a parenting conference "God is never late, He's never early. He's always on time." which is so SIMPLE but so TRUE. I can see that time and time again when I reflect on my own testimony of how the Lord is creating me to be more like Him.
We have raised nearly $5500 over the past 9 months and are grateful for the generous hearts who have loved us so well along this journey. Not only financially, but also by praying for us and our baby, and sharing words of encouragement with us when we need them the most. This process has not been easy, but following Jesus' call on our lives rarely is. Our last payment of a little over $20,000 is due at placement so if you feel compelled to donate, you can still do so. You may give on this website or through PayPal. You may also send a check directly to our agency (Christian Adoption Services) in our name which is also tax deductible and we are not subject to the 5% charge, as we are on this website. Please let me know if you mail a check to the agency because I will need to follow up. We equally appreciate your prayers and encouragement. Thanks again for loving us and our baby!
