OUR HOMESTUDY HAS BEEN APPROVED!!!
We just found out today that our pre-placement homestudy has been approved. This is a BIG milestone for us. That means the past 8 months of paperwork, interviews, and home visits have been finalized and approved by the agency. Our next step is an interview with the Director of Domestic Adoption, after which we officially go into the pool of waiting families!!!! We are beyond excited and will keep you all posted on the outcome of that meeting. This has been a long, and sometimes slow, process but we knew that going into it. We still have a long way to go but this is a big "check mark" on that journey.
Also, we've reached the half-way mark on our fundraising. We cannot begin to express how much it means to us that so many of you have supported us financially. We can only pray that God Himself will repay you for your kindness, because "thank you" just doesn't seem like enough.
Moving forward, here are the biggest needs we have:
- Please continue to pray for us. Pray for patience. We are entering into the "waiting period" where we won't have much of an idea of when we'll get "the call." Up to this point we've had set deadlines and "checkpoints." But, in the waiting pool, those don't exist.
- Pray for our child and their birth family. Pray that throughout this whole process, the birth parents and their family would receive support and encouragement. We know it isn't an easy journey for them, either. Above all, please pray that they would be introduced to the love of Jesus.
- Fundraising continues to be the biggest physical need for us right now. We're half-way to our fundraising goal. As we move into the waiting pool, this becomes a bigger and bigger need, as the window get's smaller before the funds are due to finalize our child's placement into our home. Again, any amount is appreciated more than you know, whether it's $1.00 or $100. If the Lord leads you to support us financially, our fundraising link is at the top of the group page.
Thank you all for being a part of this journey with us. We know we would not be able to walk this journey without the love and support that we have gotten from each of you along the way.
