Hello Trouforban Village Sponsors,

I hope you and your families are all doing well and that you are enjoying the presence of Jesus in your life.

I want to give an update on Trouforban, the village where the child you sponsor lives. As I’m sure you know, the people of Haiti continue to live in desperate times. You may have seen the news reports of how gangs have overtaken the majority of the country. This includes schools, banks, police headquarters, hospitals, businesses, and even the airport. Just last week the gangs over-ran the National Prison and released more than 4,000 hardened criminals back onto the streets. The Haitian people are living through some of the worst crime, violence, hunger and desperation the country has ever faced. Sadly, this violent activity has moved from the big cities out into the country side where our partnering schools and villages are located.

Yet with all the chaos, I’m grateful to report that Trouforban Village is one of our more stable areas.  While they are not totally exempt from the violence and suffering, on most days, Pastor Wilzer and his teachers and staff have been able to keep the school open, allowing your child to continue their education and to have a hot meal to eat.  

Please pray for the people of Haiti and the village of Trouforban. 

• Pray that the Lord would protect the people there; that they would be able to travel safely; find work; and buy food and other necessities. 
• Pray that the Lord would intervene and bring stability to the country. 
•  Pray that even through the struggles they are facing, that their faith would remain strong and their hearts would be fully committed to Jesus.
• Pray for Pastor Wilzer as he leads the community.  Pray that the gospel would be preached with power and love.
