WMF Peru has been working consistently with a group of former street families in Lima since 2005 in a program called "Supporting Students". As these families have made the long and difficult transition away from street life, and established themselves in neighborhoods, schools, and churches, the way we support them has also changed.
As of 2015, there are approximately 40 students in this program. Many of their parents have been asking if our community could help them with counseling support. These parents have very few financial, social, or emotional resources as they spent their adolescent years living on the street.
WMF Peru is partnering with a licensed Christian Therapist who is offering professional level counseling services at a reduced cost.
Join our team's efforts and help us reach our goal of $1,800, equivalent to 6 months of therapy for our students.
Age range of students: 9-17 years.
Therapy frequency: 2 times monthly.
Duration of therapy per student: 6 months.
