Liliane is definitely the “Poto Mitan” of her family. This is a common Creole phrase used to praise women in Haiti that means “the center pillar” of the family. She has raised seven children of her own and continues to raise three granddaughters and her nephew. Liliane has worked hard in her life, saving enough to build a small home for her family.
Tragedy hit Liliane’s family recently when she lost her job after a local orphanage closed. With the job loss, she found herself out of work and unable to care for her grandchildren. World Wide Village would like to come alongside Liliane and help her grow a small business in the market, selling staples like rice and beans, spaghetti, cooking oil, etc. Your gift on #GivingTuesday will allow Liliane to have a sustainable business and be able to support her family.
