About this trip
A vibrant nation that is rich in Mayan heritage, Guatemala continues to develop after years of civil and ethnic unrest. Guatemala has the 6th highest rate of growth stunting of children due to malnutrition, according to a 2019 UNICEF report. About 1 million children under the age of 5 suffer from chronic malnutrition. Stunted growth can cause severe development delays and increases the risk of death. There is work to be done, and we need mission volunteers to come alongside us and support this ministry! Through targeted feeding programs, integrated social work counseling and education accountability, children and families in our programs have access to the support they need to thrive. Lives are being changed in Guatemala because of people like you!
We are excited to see how the Lord will work in your life and in your fellow team members' lives not only leading up to your mission trip and while you are serving in Guatemala but also upon your return home. This is an exciting time to be the hands and feet of Christ and be able to serve some of the most amazing children and families in the world!
ON YOUR MISSION TRIP YOU MAY HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Share the Gospel with children through Bible stories, games, and crafts.
- Pack and distribute food baskets to struggling families.
- Host a sports camp or clinic.
- Provide training to parents such as parenting, health, and financial
- Help with various maintenance or construction projects.
- Tour a coffee plantation, learn to make chocolate at a chocolate museum, or visit ancient Mayan ruins.
- Experience the historic city of Antigua and the beautiful people and culture of Guatemala!
