June New York Neighborhood Project
Overview: Crown Heights, Brooklyn is a neighborhood centrally located in the largest of NYC's 5 boroughs. With 15 major ethnic groups calling it their home, Crown Heights is the picture of diversity. A melting pot of cultures, religions, and socioeconomic classes, this community is a strategic place where we can truly "make disciples of all nations...". Just launched in September of 2014, Mosaic is part of NAMB's Send/NYC initiative to plant churches that plant churches in NYC. Last year Mosaic hosted 21 groups from around the country to help further the work of reaching the nations with the Gospel. They do this by serving their neighbors and taking every opportunity to give a reason for their hope. Families, individuals, and groups are invited to come and be hands on in helping this young church carry out the Great Commission.
This is a great family team to work in the Crown Heights area with a
special emphasis on serving our neighbors. This may include painting, property
clean up, moving, washing windows, etc. Through serving our neighbors by
meeting personal needs we will be living out the Gospel as well as sharing it. Families
must make sure that the children are not high maintenance so as not to hinder
everyone from being productive.
