About this trip

Goals for the trip: (super simple)
1. Love on the kids and leaders in Zimbabwe.
2. Listen, learn, dream and plan with our leaders on the ground.
3. Determine, as a team, how we can go home and advocate for Help One Now and the people of Zimbabwe!

Tentative Itinerary {of course, not set in stone}:

January 4-6: TRAVEL. Some of us will arrive in Harare, Zimbabwe on the night of the 5th and some will arrive around noon on the 6th.

January 6: Arrive, get acclimated. We will be staying at the home of Pastor John Chinyowa and his wife, Orpah - they are 2 of the most remarkable people on the planet. We will likely meet the kids on this day and get a feel for the area...and rest after a few days of travel.

**Local Leader** -- Pastor John Chinyowa is the Pastor of Family Praise Fellowship Church in Marondera, Zimbabwe, and the leader who inspired Chris Marlow to start Help One Now years ago. Pastor John, his wife Orpah, and his church oversee Musha Wevana Children’s Home caring for nearly 100 orphaned and abandoned children. John is an incredible team-builder and he has the best laugh you have ever heard. We are currently partnering with Pastor John in Marondera to provide quality care and education for the children of Musha Wevana, and community development projects such as micro loans, water wells, and more.

January 7: Spend the day with the children of Musha Wevana. We will also do some child sponsorship activities such as pictures, videos, letters, etc.

**Founded by John Chinyowa and Family Praise Fellowship Church, Musha Wevana Village is home to over 100 orphaned and abandoned children in Marondera, Zimbabwe. The kids are loved and cared for by the Musha Wevana staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are well fed, clothed and counseled. They are part of a vibrant church community, and they’re going to school to get an education. They have a safe home, a good bed, and the comfort of family. And our commitment to these kids is for the long haul—university, trade school, and employment. We will work to see these children become responsible and productive members of Zimbabwean society. In the words of Pastor John, “We continue to serve these children knowing that they will one day be the leaders of our nation.” The Village also serves as a hub for community development work including healthcare, micro lending, leadership development, clean water wells and more.

January 8: Attend service at Pastor John's church, lunch that afternoon with the Musha Wevana leadership team at the home of Pastor John. This will be an opportunity to meet and get to know the leaders from throughout the community who have poured into this work.

January 9: Spend some time at Kukura Neshungu, a special needs life training facility in Marondera. We will also likely spend time with some families in the community, listening and learning.

January 10: FUN DAY! Game drive - woot woot! http://www.imire.co.zw

January 11: Travel to Mutare to meet with another organization to discuss potential partnership opportunities.
