Heart for Africa is a faith-based, non-profit 501(c)3 public charity. Working alongside churches in Swaziland, we are providing care and hope for the future for children in this small African nation. Through short term service trips, child sponsorship, and large fund raising programs, we are working to deliver quality care, shelter, food, water, clothing, health care, and education to the orphaned and vulnerable children of Swaziland.
We have had many people travel to Africa as part of our program. These volunteers, people just like you, have taken 11 days to go to Swaziland and see for themselves the challenges of this country and have made a commitment to making a change in the lives of those they have encountered.
Heart for Africa rural church partnerships have been established over the past four years to assist pastors in 30 rural churches to provide ongoing care for the orphans and vulnerable children in their immediate community. Our volunteer teams serve alongside these churches to plant vegetable seedlings, feed local children in need, distribute clothing/shoes to and encourage those who are working to care for the orphans and vulnerable children in the most rural areas of the Kingdom of Swaziland. Bi-weekly follow up visits deliver maize, beans and other food to help with ongoing feeding programs established by the churches.
Heart for Africa is developing a place of hope in Swaziland called Project Canaan. Project Canaan is a 2,500 acre large-scale land development project being designed by business people to come alongside Africans and bring expertise, resources and hearts together to find a holistic solution to a complex set of issues (see Why Swaziland?). It will provide training and employment, grow large amounts of food to stimulate the local economy and allow for export while supporting orphans and vulnerable children on the property and across the nation.
