One passion we have within People Bridge is to bridge forgiveness. One massive way that forgiveness is seen in the world is through money.

On Wednesday, April 21, we have a signed agreement to purchase $207,000 in debt for 35 families at 3.75%, which is $7,752 total. We can only purchase this debt as a bundle.

Once we get their information, we will not be collecting on this debt, which is what they will be expecting. We will be paying it off with no strings attached.

I am working together with a team to create a way that when we communicate with these families they will not see it as a scam, but as a gift of love.

Our goal is to enter their story and bridge them to:

-A free course through Dave Ramsey to help them get to a better place financially.

-A relationship of trust so they know and feel the financial forgiveness, but they also feel cared for and loved.

-Point them to God, who loves them and cares for their soul.

In a world that is constantly "against" something, we want to be a bridge to good. We want to bridge financial forgiveness and show God's love in a practical way.

Other than RIP Medical Debt and then Dave Ramsey over Christmas, there is no one else in this space of debt forgiveness. There is a risk that some will take this as a scam, take advantage of it and not care, or we might not even get ahold of some of them.

Yet love is risky. I believe that the "privilege" of purchasing debt for less than 4% of its cost is a risk of love and compassion we want to take.
