I was chosen, along with 14 other UA nursing students, by the UA Capstone College of Nursing to go on a medical mission trip to Athens, Greece from June 7th-16th. The trip is through e3 Medical and also Study Abroad. I will be providing medical care such as health, eye, and dental exams to Refugees from 40+ countries who have left their homes to seek safety in Greece. I chose this trip because what is going on in these countries is unfathomable. These people have gone through things that we cannot even imagine and still found the strength to leave their country, not because they wanted to but because they had to. These families are fighting to get themselves back on their feet and working but are still unable to receive the medical care they need. I would love to be the person to care for them when they need it the most while also spreading the word of God. I want to let these families know that people from all over the world have donated to this trip and come on this trip because we love and care about them.
