Hi friends!
Over the past few months, the Lord has been working in my life in tremendous ways. I am now a second quarter nursing student at Loma Linda University, and have recently been provided with the opportunity to go on my first international medical mission trip. On June 15th, I will be joining an interdisciplinary team of students in Cuzco, Peru! Our partner there--ADRA at the Chuquicahuana Center--has invited us to work alongside them in serving their community. Here, we will be assisting Loma Linda University physicians, dentists, physical/occupational therapists, and other medical professionals in providing necessary healthcare and education to the local community. We will be the home base for a variety of community outreach projects, including week-long camps emphasizing health themes for the local children. In addition to these service activities with ADRA, my missions team is partnering with local churches to offer community health education workshops in a Christ-centered environment.
I have always been passionate about using my story to serve those without the same resources that I've been given. Providing healthcare to less-fortunate communities is a major contributor in me pursuing my nursing career. I am excited to see how the Lord grows me through this experience, and reminds me how rewarding this aspect of ministry can be!
Thank you in advance for your prayers and support!
