Hello Friends and Family,
25 years ago, God put a vision on my heart to love and serve the children and families in Uganda. I remember very clearly, standing under an open sky at Creation Festival when my heart embraced this calling. My Gee-Gee (Maternal Great Grandmother) taught us it is important to have good shoes and take care of your feet. She would say, "Your feet will carry you through life, you better take good care of them."
A few years ago, a friend of mine told me about Sole Hope. An organization that works in eastern Uganda with children and families plagued by jiggers. Rooted in Christ-centered teachings of love and service, this organization became the pathway for the vision nestled in the core of my heart.
Earlier this year, I applied to join the mission team headed to Jinja, Uganda in April 2020. It is my honor to share I have been accepted to join the team, and I am eager to embark on my first mission trip. During this journey, our team will serve at the Jigger Clinic, build shoes at the Sole Hope facility, and love and serve the Jinja community.
Friends keep asking me if I plan to come back! This is a fair question! My heart's deepest desire is to live out of my backpack with only my Bible, a change of clothes, and a P.O. Box! For now, I'll be back at the end of the 10-day trip! There is a pretty incredible 15-year old I have the blessing to raise!
I'm sharing my story with you to ask for prayers! Please pray for the preparation of this trip, and kindly keep me in your prayers between April 10-19, 2020. The link to my fundraising page is included for family that requested it.
I look forward to sharing my story with you al when I return.
Humbly and gratefully,
Angie
