This year I have been learning more about surrendering all plans before the Lord and trusting God’s way. At the beginning of 2025, I read Psalm 25 and verses 4-5 stood out.

“Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.” Psalm 25:4-5 (ESV)

When I read this I was reminded of who God is. He is teacher, leader, Savior, worthy and Holy. He from the very beginning of time made a plan so that we could spend eternity with Him even though we deserve to be separated. My prayer is that each day I look to God more than the day before and cling to the truth of the Gospel. I am eagerly and impatiently waiting for God’s kingdom to come and for all of creation to worship Him.

I am so excited to go back to Ethiopia this summer to continue and support the Ethiopian church as they share the gospel and make disciples. Each year that I have gotten to go I expect God to work in certain ways and He moves in even greater ways than I could imagine. We spend time preparing and training so that the purpose of the Lord is clear, but even still sin tries to grab for control. I hope to see many of the translators, missionaries, disciple-makers, and new believers that I have met over the years, but we may be in a completely different area. God’s purpose will prevail.

I am hopeful and expectant of all that God is already doing in Ethiopia and I am so excited to partner with the church to connect with them and encourage their ministries.

• Pray for D and T our in country missionaries who are training and working with local churches to make lifelong disciples.

• Pray for our team as we prepare to share the gospel with Ethiopian Orthodox and Muslim people.

• Pray for my heart to be surrendered to the Lord’s purpose now.

• Pray for the people of Ethiopia to recognize their need for God and how much He loves them.
