WE ARE STILL ACCEPTING DONATIONS!! Though my "goal" has been reached, there is still funding needed for other team members, Bibles, and other supplies. If God has put it on your heart to give, it's not too late! And thank you so, so much!! We appreciate it more than you will ever know.
Sweet
friend!!
I pray this
letter finds you well! The reason I’m sending it to you is because I have some
crazy, exciting, amazing news! The Lord is sending me back to Rwanda...THIS
MARCH!! It's insane and wonderful and I'm so incredibly excited! Ever since I
came back from my first trip 6 years ago I've been longing to return, and He
has finally said it's time.
I know it's
typical for kids to come back from mission trips and say their lives are
changed forever...well, for me it was wholeheartedly true. When we went in
2012, I was 16 and painfully self-absorbed. Being in Rwanda, even for
such a short amount of time, opened my eyes to where True Joy comes from.
These precious people literally lived in mud shacks, many of them were
malnourished, and their clothes were tattered and worn. The water wasn't safe
to drink, but it was all they had. And yet, despite all they
"lacked", the believers (those who committed their lives to Jesus and
accepted His gift of Life) were OVERFLOWING with joy! When they worshiped the
Lord they DANCED and clapped their hands! When they prayed, they POURED their
souls out! And they weren't the stereotypical "Dear Jesus, please give me
this.." prayers, they were heartfelt, passionate PRAISES and THANKS. These
people who had NOTHING praised God because He had given them everything. True
joy. Complete happiness. Peace. Hope. Forgiveness. Love. Healing. It blew my
tiny little mind away.
At the
beginning of the week I was embarrassed, shy, and hardly got up from my chair
when we all sang together. By the end of the week I was standing with them,
clapping my hands and moving my feet (we all know homeschoolers can't dance..).
God began to work in my own heart.
Fast forward
six years to now, and the Lord has changed my heart and the way that I think in
so many beautiful ways. I'm the farthest thing from perfect, but I know that
I'm forgiven, cleansed, and loved. I
am saved by the grace of God, and so, so happy! My God has redeemed me, and now
I can finally go back and share that True Joy with those in Rwanda who haven't
experienced it yet, giving back to them my with WHOLE heart, and letting Jesus
glorify Himself FULLY through me. I've been set free by the Truth, and oh how I
long to share that with the world! Especially to the little country that stole
my heart.
On this
week-long trip, I will be able to do just that – share the Good News that
changed my life, while planting house churches in the villages. There will also
be a team of people working to figure out the resources the people there have
on hand, and helping them learn how to make a sustainable wage from it.
Teaching them how to fish, so to speak, instead of just giving it to them.
So. If
you've made it this far, THANK YOU!! It means the world to me that you care
enough to have read all of that. Please, please be praying for me through this
journey. I have complete faith that the Lord will provide anything and
everything that is needed, but I will need your prayers against the lies of the
Devil and the temptations of the world. And, if it's on your heart, I would
greatly cherish your support. I don't expect it, but I am incredibly grateful
for it, should you feel led. The goal is to raise $3,745 before the end of
February (crazy, I know, but not impossible!), which will cover all my
traveling and living expenses, any supplies needed, and also helps pay the
translators who are helping us. The trip is from March 22nd-31st.
Should you
feel led, you may donate online or by check, the donation link on this page will show you how to do both. E3 Partners
will send you a tax receipt for your donation. Thank you! <3
Again, thank
you so much for taking the time to
read all of this, and for any support whether financial or in prayer. Your
investment in this trip means the world to me, for I cannot do this on my own. May
God bless you richly for your kindness and generosity.
All my love,
Bethany
