Beloved friend,
Exactly a year from March 30th, I was baptized in “the Jordan” in Rwanda Africa. (It was an outdoor baptismal called the Jordan 😉) Hundreds of Rwandan Christians, young and old, celebrated so loudly that I could barely hear Charley as he declared me new in Jesus Christ. I will never forget the moment I came out of that water – full of a freedom I had never known before and a powerful, indescribable joy!! And you can bet your bottom dollar I came up from the water dancing to the worship of my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. It “just happened” to be Good Friday. The day Jesus died on the cross. I still get emotional when I realize that I was able to die with Jesus on that anniversary.
I’m writing to you today because I am SO excited to tell you that the Lord is sending me once more to those beautiful people!! To be completely honest, I’m a little overwhelmed at the idea of going again so soon. While these trips are short, they are incredibly taxing emotionally, spiritually, and physically. God works in such mighty ways, and Satan wants none of it! So please – would you pray for me and my team as we obey the Lord and go to minister to the people of Rwanda? The power of prayer is one of the most mysterious, amazing things I have ever known. When Christians take the time to come before the Lord and join His work through prayer, unbelievable things happen! If you would do me the honor of taking the time to pray for our team, I would greatly appreciate it. You can join our prayer team by shooting me an email at b.kilcup123@gmail.com – Thank you!!
Last year, with a team of just FIVE North Americans and nine nationals, 600 people heard the gospel, and approximately 402 people professed faith in Jesus Christ. In FIVE DAYS. And do you know what’s even more incredible?? The new believers we left CONTINUED to share the gospel after we went home, so the number of Christians has multiplied immensely! God is drawing so many beautiful people into His Kingdom there, and it is such a blessing to join Him!!
This year we have the same mission – share the gospel, teach them how to read the Bible and fellowship with other believers, and continue the community transformation work that teaches the natives how to use their resources for a sustainable income. Oh, and my favorite part, DANCE OUR HEARTS OUT!!
I have complete faith that the Lord will provide anything and everything that is needed, but I will need your prayers against the lies of the Devil and the temptations of the world. And, if it's on your heart, I would greatly cherish your support. I don't expect it, but I am incredibly grateful for it should you feel led. The goal is to raise $3,999 before the end of June which will cover all my traveling and living expenses, any supplies needed, and helps pay the translators who are helping us. The trip is July 18-29th.
Thank you, from the depths of my soul, for taking the time to read this, and for any support whether financial or in prayer. I can’t do this on my own, so your investment means more to me than you will ever know. I know that God is already working, and I trust that His plan is going to be epic!!! (And not at all what I expect!)
May God richly bless you for your kindness and generosity. And I pray that you would know His love deeper and deeper as each day passes. There is nothing sweeter.
