For one of our older boys, Jolesse, the time has come for him leave us. After many years at the Freedom House, he will be returning to his extended family in the mountains of Laborde. Because of ongoing medical needs, independent living will be difficult for him, so we have worked carefully to put a plan in place that will allow him to continue receiving his medication and seeing a doctor regularly while living with family. 

We also want to leave his family with something that can help them care for him long after he leaves the Freedom House. In Haiti, a cow is much more than a gift. It is an asset for a family - something they can raise, breed, and use to help create income for future needs. 

 A healthy cow will cost approximately $800-$1000, depending on its age and size. So, we are asking our Freedom House family to help us send him home with a little more security for his future.

Whether you give $10, $25, $50 or help us cover the entire cow, every gift will help us give this young man and his family a stronger start in this next chapter.

We have loved him, cared for him and walked beside him for so many years. Leaving the Freedom House doesn't mean we stop caring about what happens next.
