I'm thrilled to announce I will be participating in a service-learning trip to Nicaragua
with 99 Balloons’ Global Partners this upcoming March as a physical therapy
student.
During this trip, my team will be working alongside children
and families with disabilities at a local community center. We hope to offer therapeutic
interventions and education to enhance their quality of life. In addition to
experiencing the story of disability in Nicaragua, we will be providing
training for local staff, physical therapists, and speech therapists. Our team
aims to make a meaningful impact while gaining invaluable hands-on experience. We
embrace this opportunity with optimism, striving to equip children and families
with the skills and knowledge they need to foster greater independence and
enhance their well-being.
I can't wait to apply the knowledge I have gained during my
schooling. However, to make this trip possible,
I am seeking financial support to help me cover expenses. Total costs includes
items such as airfare, room and board, meals, travel insurance, in town
transportation, translator fee, baggage fees, team lead fee, emergency, admin
fees, and special project for global partners. Any contribution, no matter the
size, will directly impact the lives of those we are striving to help and
enable me to take part in this life-changing experience. If you’d like to
contribute, donations can be made here or directly through Venmo @cambreawtrey.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to help make a
difference. Your generosity and encouragement are truly appreciated.
-Cambre Awtrey, SPT
PS: This trip Cost
does not cover visa fees, shots, airport meals, or any extra activities.
