Urgent Appeal - Summer is a tough season for fundraising. We need your help to sustain vital programs!

Dear Friend,

I’m reaching out with an urgent update about CDFI’s work, and a critical challenge we’re facing right now. We need your help today to keep our programs afloat through the summer months.

As you know, CDFI is committed to supporting children with disabilities in underserved communities in Jamaica and Kenya. We work very hard to ensure that 95% of every dollar goes directly to our programs.

I am telling you this because I want you to know the care we take to effectively manage each and every generous donation we receive. We do not take you, our donors, for granted, and could do nothing without your continual, generous support!

Now, I need to inform you that CDFI’s general funds are running dangerously low. These general (undesignated) funds cover ALL non-sponsorship related expenditures in both Jamaica and Kenya, and in fact cover more than 90% of program costs in Jamaica.

Without adequate general funds, the tough reality is that our vital programs in Jamaica cannot continue.

Our general funds account also covers our very low, but vital 5% overhead costs. These funds are essential for everything we do behind the scenes. Overhead funds sustain our day-to-day operations. These include things like administrative support, technical infrastructure, and legal registrations and bookkeeping,

To make matters more challenging, summer is historically a slower time for fundraising. That means fewer donations at a time when the needs remain very high.
