I chose to do a mission trip this summer to learn about medicine and its practice in underserved areas of the world. The hospital in Bengaluru, India gives me an opportunity to be immersed in this environment. The poverty I saw on a trip to India over a decade ago is embedded in my heart, and this trip will show me ways I can be a part of the solution.
International Mission Service Learning Programs provide Loma Linda University students with unique opportunity to be exposed to healthcare systems in cross-cultural setting around the world. These programs are designed to offer students a broad educational experience within their healthcare professions. As program participants, students may have the opportunity to observe or rotate with local physicians in a hospital setting, participate in community outreach activities, serve in local school programs, and contribute to the spiritual activities of the host site.
