Before I traveled to China to adopt Lorelai, I couldn't shake the nagging feeling that we had two daughters waiting for us. Due to our agency's (very good) policies, we could not bring home two girls at the same time. Nevertheless, as the months passed, my certainty remained that we had another daughter waiting to come home.
I saw her face for the first time in September and she took my breath away. Because she was in a partnership orphanage with a different agency, it was impossible for us to match with her. Several months later, she popped up with a new agency and after weeks of back and forth, the second agency agreed to transfer her file to Bethany Christian Services so we could adopt her. She is ours!!!
Charlie is 1-year-old and is from Guangdong, China. Though we do not know exactly the cause, Charlie is blind. We think, however, she is absolutely perfect.
We still have many steps to go, but we are hopeful that by Fall 2017 our precious girl will be home. We can't wait to have her in our arms.
We believe that God longs to see each and every child in a family and that when he calls us, he will provide what we need. Thank you, friends, for once again stepping out in faith with us.
For we live by faith, not by sight. -- 2 Corinthians 5:7China
