Students from the Westside School of Mission, Theology, & Worship will finish up the year with a two month practicum to one of the following locations:
Glasgow, Scotland
Kampala, Uganda
Arua, Uganda
Harare, Zimbabwe
Raleigh, NC, USA
At the Westside School, I am in the Missions stream. During the first nine months of the school, I am learning through classroom time, first hand experience, in community- not just how to reach the ends of the earth- but how to engage them. How to live in and among new cultures, to determine how to best help groups of people and individuals based on their needs and their culture, not by how I deem to be the best way, and much more. In addition to those important thing related particularly to missions work, I have also been learning what it looks like to really love people, the impact ones story can have on another's life, and how to listen and be guided by the Holy Spirit.
After 9 months of studying, the school is sending me, along with 26 other students to the locations listed above. During this time, classroom experience will extend into life experience in the global Kingdom. Students will have hands-on involvement including leading worship, teaching the Bible, assisting with feeding programs, caring for orphans, and learning the daily operations of pastoral life. This two month window abroad will help further prepare them to understand the full scope of vocational ministry.
The cost for the trip will be $5,000. Funds will cover all airfare, accommodations, meals, ground transportation, insurance, immunizations, and incidentals.
Each Westside School student will have the opportunity to choose where they will serve. Locations will be determined by the end of the year and individual fundraisers will be updated to share more about the work they will be doing.
Thank you for being part of the mission "On earth as it in in Heaven".
