Purpose:
          The CBC Trip to the Philippines is going to be a powerful and intense trip.  The itinerary and travel schedule does not allow for much recreation time.  From the moment we hit the ground in Iloilo until we return to McAllen on June 5, we are going to very occupied.  We will have a team leaving on May 21 and traveling almost 48 hours to finally end in Iloilo late evening on May 24.  We will be traveling to three circuits to work with children, students, and youth leaders in multiple rural regions.  

           By May 31 we will start our 3 days of training Pastors and Leaders from over 100 institutions around Iloilo, before returning on June 2 to Manila.  June 3-4 we will visit our Food for the Hungry partner in Norzagaray, Bulacan.  We return to Manila with enough time to fly home at 10pm on June 4 arriving in McAllen on June 5.

Hello friends and family,  

            This summer, for two weeks, I will have the privilege of going to the Philippines with the mission of spreading the joy that God has given to me, namely the gospel and how we can pursue and enjoy Jesus better. Jesus has given me hope and joy and I believe He has commanded me to share that same hope and joy with others around me and those far away. The team and I will be teaching youth leaders in and near Iloilo City strategies, tools, and ideas for effective disciple making in hopes of bringing all peoples in the area to behold and treasure Christ. I am so filled with joy with the opportunity, and ideas that our team will be modeling with our Filipino brothers and sisters. Pastors Julio, Chad, and Paulo will also be conducting a pastors conference in Iloilo City to help current pastors more effectively serve their communities and church body. The title for the conference this year is Renew: 2017.

            Another major component of our trip will be to visit the community that my church has adopted back home in partnership with Food for the Hungry. This is a poverty relief effort in the northern region of the Philippines (Luzon). We will we working with an impoverished community in the Philippines that lack many basic necessities we often take for granted. In the adopted community, Norzagaray, Bulacan, we will have the opportunity to stay with host families and really be immersed in the community for a few days. The team and I are so excited to make connections with the families in the community and just let them know that we love and care for their needs in the name of Christ. I'm super excited to have this opportunity and hope that you all would partner with me through prayer or helping donate. I know 1,600 is a big number to reach, but it used to be even more!
