Hello! To those who do not know me personally, my name is Christine, and I am currently a nursing student in Loma Linda University. In the beginning of this academic school year, I decided to participate in a mission trip that will take place in the Philippines. Being ethnically Filipino, the thought of going back to my home country to participate in acts of service with the skills I honed and learned in nursing school was a calling I know that I need to follow. Through Loma Linda University’s SIMS program, I was able to apply for a spot in going to Pagudpud Adventist Wellness Center — located in Ilocos Norte. Information about the facility will be the following passage:
In partnership with host/sister Adventist institutions: Pagudupud Adventist Wellness Center, our multidisciplinary team will collaborate and interact with host
institution’s staff to provide healthcare education and assessment to local
patients and families.
- Workshops and
lectures on health education to hospital staff and university students·
- Collaborate with
community-based health fairs - children and adults
- Cultural exchange
opportunities, clinical observation, and interactions with local students and staff.
- Working with doctors and dentists in providing free rural clinics in medically deprived villages.
In order to secure my spot, I have to raise the necessary amount of money that will allow me to acquire airplane tickets and have proper accommodation in Pagudpud. I humbly ask for any contributions for this mission trip. I am excited to follow and practice Loma Linda University’s mission — “to make man whole” and become a part of promoting Christ’s healing ministry.
With the utmost gratitude,
Christine Tantay
