If you email us a greeting from your family to brenda@jacarandacommunity.com, we will share it with the family we give the food basket to and ensure you also receive a greeting from them and picture (if possible) so you can learn more about the family you fed on Christmas.

How It Works:

Your gift will be used to purchase a basket of food to be delivered to a family in need in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya. Depending on the family size, this basket will provide food for not only Christmas dinner but also help for a few days after! However, most tend to share their food with other families in need around them on Christmas Day.

The basket will include: flour to make Chapati (a favorite), rice, beans, lentils, tea leaves, sugar, salt, oil and bar soap to be used for dishes and bathing.

Upon receipt of your gift, the Jacaranda Community staff will go to the market, buy the items and hand deliver them to each family.

Imagine the joy these families will feel when they’re surprised with food to celebrate Christmas and given the choice to share it with others!
