I’m so excited to share with you a special project we’ve launched to benefit our program recipients in Kenya! With your help today, we can raise the $15,900 needed in order to supply cooking stoves to every family in our Kenya program.

Why Cooking Stoves?

Parents and caregivers for children with special needs in Kisumu, Kenya must currently search for and gather firewood (or purchase wood) in order to cook a very basic meal for their children. Wood is hard to come by, and purchasing wood is not an option for most families.

Take a look at this video of Ashley’s mother building a fire just to cook Ashley a simple meal of porridge. She is using dry sticks from a local tea farm.

Not only is wood hard to come by but the smoke inhalation is unhealthy for parents and children. Cooking in this fashion is also time consuming and tedious when caring for a child with special needs.

What we can do this Christmas with your help!

We have a simple solution, but we desperately need your help to make it a reality this Christmas!

For $15,900 we can provide EVERY family in our program a safe and clean LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) stove. This is just $60 per family which will provide a stove and two cooking pans.

We have already distributed several of these stoves to families in our program and I want you to see how they work! I also want you to see the joy brought to a mother who struggles to care for her child with disabilities. Take a look at the videos below of Sasha’s mother who recently received a cooking stove.

In the second video above, Sasha’s mom says she is so grateful to the sponsor who donated the stove. She relays that she has been struggling to find wood and the smoke makes breathing difficult. She thanks the donor for her generosity.
