Hi sweet friends,

Let me start the story in 2019.

God started to stir in my heart a deeper understanding of His love beyond ways I can fathom and specifically His love for those who do not know Him yet through a mission conference at Austin Chinese Church. In 2020, I prayed with much excitement for “next steps” to pursue what it may mean to learn more about God’s heart for the nations. I thought God would use a Perspectives class and a short-term mission trip in Central America to increase my understanding of God’s heart for the nations but to my disappointment, COVID closed those doors.

Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Verses 8-9 from Isaiah 55 was the truth I clung on to in those moments when I did not hear a clear next step from God. As the prayer of seeking His will continued, I specifically asked God for a short-term mission trip. AND this year, He answered through a life group member who introduced us to an opportunity in Honduras. I am hoping to go to La Lima, Honduras where our team will work in the banana plantations, a large export in Honduras, with local pastors and leaders sharing the gospel, building relationships those in the neighborhood, and taking water filters to the homes of persons of peace.

God has certainly provided in many big and small ways! One way His providence has been so personal for me was after I signed up for the trip, people around me reminded me that I needed to get a passport soon. I didn’t realize how hard it was to get a passport appointment within the month until I found myself going through all the post offices appointment pages in Austin without any openings. That very night as I continued my journey of refreshing many pages and praying, a passport appointment opened that was within the month. Praising Him making a way for this appointment and passport to come before the trip!

Even if you cannot support financially, I still very much love prayer and believe God moves powerfully through ways we cannot think or imagine.

Prayer Requests:

• God to bring stability and wise leadership in Honduras. God would help break down the structures of corruption and preferential treatment of the rich over those who are in poverty.
•  God will help the passport come on time (before the trip)!
•  God will use the upcoming training opportunities through E3 for more understanding of those in Honduras, culture, and effective strategies for reaching those in Honduras.

Sing to the Lord, all the earth!
