My name is Dale, and I am a husband, father, grandfather, and a great-grandfather. Not too many years ago I was living my life for myself, seeking my own way driven by my own desires, bound by my own appetites and selfish interests. I had become so driven to gain want I wanted that I had no peace in my life. The tyranny of my thoughts and desires had become unbearable. Now, in the late years of my life I decided to seek what my life meant and its purpose. I began seeking to find a consciousness of soul peace and happiness. I began to look at philosophy and religion. One day on a trip to a work site in a small town near where I live I was listening to a minister speak on being spiritually minded. As I listened to the minister explain what true salvation and peace is I was seized with conviction in my life. It was as if I could see the scars of sin on my soul. The scars of sins I had put there. I was so convicted that I actually cried to the Lord, “why would you want my soul”, “why would You want me”? It was then I realized I was a sinner separated from God. Upon that realization and the confession of my mouth (Romans 10:9-10) I was truly saved. I could not believe that Christ would want to save me. I had no idea what had just happened, but I knew that I had found peace and joy in salvation. It was truly a miracle in my life. As the days, weeks, months, and years have passed that joy and peace in the salvation of the Lord has not failed. God has truly delivered me from my old life. The thoughts, desires, and selfish ambitions began to shrivel and die. In their place love, joy and happiness has grown. I now live in the newness of life in Him.
