Thank you again for being part of my faithful support each time I have gone to the “remotest
part of the earth” (Acts 1:8) to share the gospel. I cannot have done it without you – both
financially and prayerfully. For you
have walked with me - to each village, each home, and each person whom I have
shared the gospel with and who had made a life altering decision to follow
Jesus. God loves each person and God
knows each by name!
Over the past ten years, you have helped to sustain
me by your prayers, whether to India or Africa, through heat and cold, rain and
mud, sickness and health, and definitely in less than accommodating
circumstances. I am therefore more than
grateful for your support.
And now it has been just a little over a month since I
returned from our India trip - which once again God wonderfully blessed - but am already preparing
for our return trip back to Africa this summer.
I will be joined by others from FCBC and also a handful of brethren
from other churches.
The exciting news is that we are planning to return to the same region we ministered to last year. It is an un-reached people group in Africa which has a population of 372,000, yet is
only 0.05% Evangelical Christian. That
is not only less than one percent, it is five hundredths of one percent! The fact of the matter is, the vast majority of these people are Muslim!
Why hasn’t Christianity spread among these
people? Why haven’t more missionaries
step foot into these villages? Are they too
remote? Is the land or the people too inhospitable? Or is there some impenetrable spiritual
darkness that rules over the people there?
This then is our calling on this trip.
And you are going with me, for I need you next to me now more than ever!
But our God is amazing! Last year, we saw 1 in 3 persons we shared the gospel with make a decision to follow Christ - even though that meant persecution or ridicule from family members and fellow villagers. It can only be attributed to the power of
the gospel, for as the Scriptures say, “For
I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans
1:16), and I believe in the power of
God to come upon us as we become His witnesses (Acts 1:8).
