At Help One Now, we strive to see the children we care for become self-sustaining adults who break the cycle of poverty. We want them to leave our sponsorship with the education and life-skills they need to have a flourishing future.
In Zimbabwe, a critical step to meeting this goal was the creation of The Gatehouse Agricultural Training Center. The Gatehouse empowers students who are aging out of the children's home Musha Wevana. It equips these students with skills and resources to farm food for themselves or seek employment in the commercial agricultural industry. The Gatehouse is a source of practical training, confidence, and a hope for a bright future!
The Gatehouse launched this year to train 5 bright students! In 2019, more students will join the program to receive education and skills that will prepare them to enter adulthood. To do this,
a dorm must be built on the Gatehouse campus to house the students seeking vocational training, but are legally aging-out of Musha We Vana.
This new dorm will provide space to house 25 more students, as well as 2 house parents to oversee and mentor these young adults as they grow and learn! The construction of the dorm will provide local jobs and support businesses in the surrounding community.
With your help, these students will leave poverty behind. They will make this transitional step out of our sponsorship program and into a life filled with love and hope! Thank you for the difference you choose to make!
