Combined with similar political, economic, and military conflicts developing in places like Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, and Pakistan, Europe is now the epicenter for the world’s largest humanitarian crisis since the Holocaust.

Adjacent to the Aegean Sea, many desperate migrants pay human smugglers to pack them into overloaded rafts taking them from Turkey to the Greek coasts. In a recent estimate, over 3,800 have died in 2016 alone attempting the journey, a testament to the impossible situations they leave behind in their home countries.
