Puerto Plata is a beach town in the Dominican Republic, but outside of the small resorts and clubs along the shore, it is stricken with poverty. The people there live in houses that are often smaller than the sizes of our living rooms, and they need to know there is hope beyond the here-and-now.
Last spring break, I accompanied about twenty students from my youth group to Puerto Plata on my first international mission trip. It was an eye-opening, humbling, and inspirational trip. That week, I witnessed much of that poverty, but I also witnessed over a thousand people being saved and I discovered my calling into ministry.
This year, the trip will be even better. With new training and follow-up procedures in place, all the people God saves on this spring break will be followed up with by a local church. The impact God will leave through our group on the city of Puerto Plata will be amazing, and I can't wait to be a part of it.
If you would like to donate to my mission fund, every dollar counts, and it would mean the world to me for you to participate in making this amazing opportunity a reality. But I know not everyone can donate, and that's okay. Prayer is a powerful force, and every contribution of any kind makes a difference! So please, pray for me, for the rest of the students going on this trip, and for the people in Puerto Plata.
