This year, we were facing a seemingly insurmountable challenge. Children like Mary (in the profile picture above), who started preschool with us in 2014, are now in sixth grade. She’s not a little girl anymore and is facing all the dangers of adolescence in an urban slum. 

Our challenge is that our facility is out of room. In the past two years, we’ve pushed our imaginations, thinking of how to use every inch of space.

Was the Lord telling us we had done all He wanted us to do in the lives of these kids? Was it time to say goodbye?

The capacity of our facility said, “that was it.” The government also said, “you can’t have seventh graders here. You're done.” But there was room at the inn of our hearts to continue.

We searched for land close to Maisha Mapya for over a year. But since slums are impacted, there was nothing available. The few vacant plots in our neighborhood were under dispute. And settling those claims can take years.

So, we looked for parcels within a 30-minute drive of the school. We discovered that land is expensive, on the order of $50,000 an acre plus development costs, expensive! But the giver of every good and perfect gift was planning to give us the desire of our hearts.

Now, are you ready for this? A like-minded, godly organization owned land not being fully utilized. God connected us, and they’re offering it as an incredible gift to continue nurturing these beautiful children!

The property is five times larger than our current school. It’s five glorious acres of incredible land. God is clearly saying, “Help keep these children’s dreams alive.”

The potential impact for God’s Kingdom at this new location is exciting. However, the facility hasn't been used in a few years. Work is needed to prepare it for our fifth, sixth and seventh-grade learners for the new school year, starting January 23, 2023.

We are ready to get to work to bring new life (Maisha Mapya in Swahili) to this beautiful land. We are honored to take the next step in this dream with you.

We know our miracle working God will provide! Every gift is important regardless of the amount and helps get the kids closer to being in this wonderful place. I can feel God’s family coming together, and with His help, we will fulfill this fantastic dream.
