From NEXT & East-West:

Every year, NEXT Worldwide accepts a limited number of high school and college students to participate in a ten-week internship opportunity.

Our goal is for each intern to come away from the 2019 summer with a greater passion and deeper understanding of missions and leadership. Throughout the process we also hope to prepare interns for a life of gospel proclamation, by engaging others cross-culturally, and completing the task of bringing the gospel to the ends of the earth.

Throughout the summer, our experienced staff will invest and equip the interns to “Live the Mission”. The Interns will serve in our office two days per week (Our office is located in Plano, Texas) helping our staff prepare for the numerous short-term domestic and international trips. Each intern will also accompany and help lead at least two short-term mission teams.

From Erin:

Friends and family, for those that have known me throughout high school, you know that I hold the ministry of missions close to my heart. After serving in the Dominican Republic for four years throughout high school, my heart has only grown with a passion to share the Gospel to all the nations. My hope is that through this internship, I will not only come out with skills of how I can further my career in missions going into college, but with greater clarity of what the Lord's plan for my life is through missions. This summer I will be leading high schoolers on two trips, one to Romania and another to Guatemala. By participating in this internship, I am sacrificing the majority of my summer vacation to serve with this ministry and lead these trips. It was more important for me to obey the Lord and apply for this internship, than it was for me to do what I want with my last summer before college.
