Hello!
This May I am thrilled to be joining 99 Balloons' Global Partners in North India! While on this trip I will get to experience the story of disability in North India, provide training and respite services for families impacted by disability, assist with medical clinics, and provide direct care for kids with disabilities. The team will be working with a disability support center which serves almost 200 villages in the rural foothills of the Himalayas.
The team going on this trip will include special educators, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other disability professionals. I, specifically, will have the opportunity to provide physical therapy (PT) services to the children in the disability support center and the surrounding villages. I am so excited to get to practice what I have been learning in PT school the last 5 semesters!
The trip is scheduled from May 22nd to June 1st. First and foremost, I covet your prayers for myself and the team that I will be going with! Pray for the children and families that will receive services from us. Pray for the gospel to be made known and revealed to those we encounter! I would also appreciate if you would prayerfully consider supporting me on this trip. The trip cost is $2835, which covers all costs for the trip including airfare, room and board, meals, travel insurance, baggage fees, emergency and administration fees, and a special project for global partners. All donations are tax refundable and a receipt will automatically be sent to your inbox. Any donation would be highly appreciated.
If you have any questions about this trip or
what my role specifically will be, let me know and I would love to chat!
To God be all honor and glory!
Blessings,
Erin Dougherty
“But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them,
just as He wanted them to be. If they
were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but
one body. The eye cannot say to the
hand, “I don’t need you!” And the hand cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need
you!” On the contrary, those parts
of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we
think are less honorable we treat with special honor. [...] But God has put the body together, giving
greater honor to the parts that lacked it,”
