The LLU CRNA Program (the program that Rachel is training in) has teamed up with the LLUMC Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery to provide care for the people of Honduras. I will be joining them for this medical mission trip to help less fortunate people who do not have adequate access to medical/surgical care. The facility, Hospital Adventista Valle de Angeles (HAVA), sits up in the mountains in a rural location where Hondurans often come for peace, tranquility and healing.
This experience allows us to use the skills we have learned for a bigger purpose. This is an opportunity to care for people who do not have the modern conveniences offered in the United States.
Through the Global Health Institute (GHI) and Students for International Mission Service (SIMS), we are able to obtain necessary supplies and raise funds to support our efforts.
This fundraiser is strictly dedicated to paying for the expenses of the trip and those who are in need of the services that will be provided.
