FUNDRAISER DESCRIPTION

This specific fundraiser is to support medical [pharmaceuticals, testing supplies, vitamins, PPE]  and humanitarian [food supplies and vitamins] consumable supplies to be used and distributed by us and our Russian partners before, during, and in follow-up in-home visits to our actual time in Russia.

TRIP DESCRIPTION

Kursk’s history goes back to the 5th century B.C., with the first written record of the city from 1032. Today, Kursk is home to over 415,000 Russians and serves as a major industrial center for the region. It’s also the hub for Kursk State University, the Russian Chamber Orchestra, and the Puskin Theater.

The city is a major urban center in Russia’s vast economy. Today, Russia is one of the largest and most influential countries in the world. It plays a major role in foreign policy and the global economy. Yet, of the country’s 144 million citizens, nearly 90% are considered unreached by the gospel, making it a significant focal point for anyone with a desire to advance the gospel.

WHAT WE’RE DOING

This expedition is a unique opportunity to reach the people of Kursk with the story of Jesus. We are working with a series of churches who have a passion for reaching their city. In addition to taking the gospel to the streets, we will also encourage and disciple existing Christians. As people give their lives over to Jesus, they will be connected with local pastors who will establish new small groups and churches, ensuring a lasting impact in the region.

This beautiful Region of Russia is the home of over two million people; and yet there are fewer than 40 evangelical churches reaching out to them. Our prayer is to see one church planted for every 1000 residents; and we believe that God is going to do it! We will provide medical care to about 600 patients in three separate clinics, and share the gospel with them. We will also be helping with follow-up to those who attend the clinics.

Then, the churches will also be equipped to share the Gospel and further follow them up properly as they begin new life in Christ. New churches have been planted following these clinics in unreached areas of the Kursk Region! The disciple-making process must be modeled for the church leaders so that it may be passed along to their congregations.
