The Gatehouse Farm Transition Program — an agricultural and vocational training program focused on restoring a full life and equipping children to transition into adulthood. The Gatehouse Farm is a 30+ acre tract of land that sits right on the edge of Marondera. In fact, it is within walking distance of Musha WeVana and the schools that the children attend, and Pastor John’s church already meets on this property. On the farm, we will create a training center that will give generations of children the tools they need to succeed. This program will serve 20–25 young people at a time, but it will benefit all of Musha WeVana and the Gatehouse Community! The skills training opportunities will initially include: Agriculture, Metal Work, Carpentry, Business Management, and Technology. We will eventually add Motor Mechanics and Catering, with a vision to continue adding more opportunities over time. The agricultural training will be taught in the context of a program known as Foundations For Farming (or Farming God’s Way), and will include: Cropping, Livestock Management, Farm Mechanics, Soil Science, Bee Keeping, Poultry, Dairy Management, and even Marketing!
