Since 2021, a local coalition of Grants Pass community members have come together to help reconcile their community's history of being a sundown town. This group, Grants Pass Remembrance, is working to develop a new identity in Grants Pass toward being a "sunrise community," the opposite to a sundown town--a community in which everyone can feel safe, respected, and like they can call this space their home.
