Hello friends and family! As you may or may not have heard, I have been blessed with the privilege to hike in the mountains of Peru while preaching the gospel to those who have never heard the name of Jesus Christ before. We will definitely be living out the Matthew 28:19 mission on this trip. We will be going into the world so that we can make disciples of a foreign nation. Though this is not my first mission trip, it is my first mission trip to make disciples by preaching the gospel. The other two mission trips I participated in, involved mostly children’s ministry to those who were already in the church. That being said, much prayer and support is needed for the whole team, which includes thirteen in all. We will be leaving Friday, August 21 and will return Sunday, August 30. We will be camping and preaching the gospel in Cusco, Peru.

If you have decided to join in praying for us, please pray for safe travels and no injuries or sickness while we are down there. But more importantly, pray that The Lord will equip us with the wisdom and the gentility to present the gospel in a way that these people will understand; not so we can say we brought someone to Christ, but so that God’s name will be glorified across the world. In addition, pray that the Holy Spirit will cross all boundaries of language and culture so that we can connect with our brothers and sisters in Peru creating an eternal bond that will allow God’s kingdom to truly dwell here on earth.  

If you would like to support this trip in any way, we each need to raise $2,800 to pay for the trip. Also, because we are backpacking and camping in the mountains, we need lots of backpacking gear, which is an added cost to the trip. However, if you have ever been on a mission trip before, you probably know that God always provides (sometimes at last minute), so we are not worried. The Holy Spirit has already shown Himself in the development of this trip. We are confident that He will provide the financial needs as well.
