Hi friends and family! 

In two short months, I am traveling to Haiti for five days to support house-moms at an orphanage called Ferrier Village. During the trip, I will be part of a team teaching the house-moms trauma-informed approaches to working with the children in their care. This is such a special experience for me because I will get to share the trauma care skills I've gained through my social work program to these women doing trauma care on the ground. They support so many children coming from difficult places, and I'm humbled to get to come alongside and support them.

Ferrier Village is near the border of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, and the children who live there have been or were at risk of being trafficked. Human trafficking is a major human rights issue across the world, but especially in Haiti, where it's estimated that between 150,000 and 500,000 children are domestic servants.

I am beyond excited to partner in teaching trauma-informed care with others from my local church in Austin, Austin New Church. It is a church that fiercely pursues social justice and love for all, so I can't imagine a better group to join with on this journey. 

Because airfare, lodging, and other costs are involved, there is a cost of $1,500 for the trip. This is relatively cheap for an international trip like this, and through prayer and wise counsel, I decided to step out in faith and hope that others could help with financial support. Of course, I also ask for your prayers, good vibes, and warm wishes come November 14th.
