My name is Heather Young. I am twenty two years old. I am currently a college student. I have been blessed with several different opportunities to go to Tanzania, Africa and God has really shown me so much throughout each and every trip!! I can honestly say there are no trips that are alike. I was fourteen years old when I knew the Lord was calling me to Tanzania, Africa. I am more than happy to say that this summer I have the opportunity to go back! I will be leaving on May 27 and returning home June 7th. I will be going to a place called Maneromango, Tanzania. During this trip, we will be working in new areas among the Zaramo people where there are no churches. YES, YOU READ THAT CORRECT!!! NO CHURCH. NOT EVEN ONE. Can you imagine? It's so hard to grasp the concept that most of these people do not have a place of worship.. In Alabama we have a church on every corner. This area is the largest unreached people group of Tanzania!! That means that some or most of these people do not even know who Jesus is!!!! And God is sending me to go and share who He is and what He has done for them!!!
On this trip we will be using Community Transformation as the entry point to build relationships that will open the door for the gospel. Some of the things we will do on this trip include: Community Transformation training, identifying physical and spiritual needs, sharing Bible stories, prayer walking and identifying persons of peace. A person of peace is someone that you find in the village who knows the Lord or comes to know the Lord while you are there. This person will be your entry point to the hearts of the village. This is normally someone who is very trusted within the village. Yet, I have seen God do some pretty cool things while looking for a person of peace.. We have found a drunk fisherman who God RADICALLY changed his life and he became our person of peace. God always sends just the right person at just the right time!
Often times I am asked why go to Africa? Why not stay here? Isn't that is SOOOO far away?? In response I often like to ask the question what if that was your family? Your mom? Dad? Brother or even sister? Would you want someone to go tell them about Jesus? Would you want someone to bring them hope and joy and let them know that they are loved? No matter how long it takes to get there... Because I know I would. But the truth is, God calls us ALL to go! Wether it be to Africa or your neighboring state or even city.. Maybe it is even your next door neighbor.... God calls us ALL to go and make disciples!
Our team will partner with national churches and believers to target unreached areas with the Gospel. Each day I will team up with several national believers, including a translator, and go home to home sharing Christ with those we meet. The nationals we work with are committed to following-up with the people who make professions of faith throughout the week - and are further dedicated to establishing new churches in these areas. I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with me on this e3 Expedition. I believe God is calling me to go, however, this can only happen if YOU help send me. As it says in Romans 10:13-15: "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of who they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are SENT? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

The major difference that is hard for many to understand is these people do not know who God is nor do they understand why a man loved them so much that he would die for them. It is our job to show them the love of Jesus and tell them all about him and what he is doing in my life. The most rewarding part of any trip is watching each and every person and family grow in the Lord.
