Hi family and friends! I wanted to take a minute and share with you about my upcoming trip to Uganda with Hope Speaks. This is a ministry dedicated to helping children with disabilities in Uganda. I first found out about the ministry on Instagram and always thought it would be neat to volunteer there. I started to think and pray about it more this fall and winter, and God has been teaching me more about ministry, specifically through the book of Acts and the early church. I am planning to volunteer at Hope Speaks in June for two weeks (June 14-28), and help share Christ's love to help children with disabilities through speech therapy. Thank you for being a part of my life and for taking the time to read this. First, I would like to ask you to pray for Hope Speaks and be praying for this trip and God to move! Pray that God can continue to work there through His people to be His hands and feet and my preparation in going over there.
Hope Speaks is a wonderful ministry to help children with disabilities in Kampala, Uganda. 1 in 7 children are living with a disability. Their main ministry is providing Speech Therapy to hundreds of these children. They teach them to swallow, chew, understand and express language, and so much more. Many of the volunteers are Speech Language Pathology grad students, as well as Speech Therapy professionals. This will help them reach many more children with these services.
Hope Speaks has gone beyond that and also includes hosting other groups who help with projects, food for families, children's day camps, and going and serving in the slums.
Thank you so much for being a part of my life and helping me accomplish something that's important to all of us! God bless you!
