I have loved being a Speech-Language Pathologist the past three years. I've loved helping children find their voice and equipping them with tools they will use for the rest of their lives. My heart breaks for so many children in our world who need speech and language services, but for whatever reason (e.g. financial issues, limited resources, lack of support, distance, etc.) do not have access to them. I am venturing forth this summer to Kampala, Uganda to serve some of these people. I am beyond excited to serve by combining ministry with speech pathology. What better way to serve the kingdom of God than by using the skills I've been given to serve others?! God is so good!
Hope Speaks is a wonderful ministry to help children with disabilities in Kampala, Uganda. 1 in 7 children are living with a disability. Their main ministry is providing Speech Therapy to hundreds of these children. They teach them to swallow, chew, understand and express language, and so much more. Many of the volunteers are Speech Language Pathology grad students, as well as Speech Therapy professionals. This will help them reach many more children with these services.
Hope Speaks has gone beyond that and also includes hosting other groups who help with projects, food for families, children's day camps, and going and serving in the slums.
Every donation is important and will enable me to be present and help these children with disabilities. Would you prayerfully consider making a donation? I would also appreciate your willingness to share this with others who may want to participate.
Lastly, please pray for my trip. Pray for the preparation, for lives to be changed, and for God to use our team for HIS ultimate plan.
Thank you so much for being a part of my life and helping me actively participate in this exciting work! God bless you!
