Hey there! I am so incredibly thankful you've considered visiting this page!
I'm currently a junior in the University of Tennessee's Audiology/Speech Pathology program with a deep desire to love God and serve His people especially in the professional realm of Speech Therapy. Hope Speaks is an incredible ministry that provides care, therapy, and so much love for children with disabilities in Kampala, Uganda that otherwise would not receive it. It's reported that 1 in 7 children are living with a disability and their main ministry is providing Speech Therapy to hundreds of these children. We'll be teaching them to swallow, chew, understand and express language, and so much more. Many of the volunteers are Speech Language Pathology grad students, as well as Speech Therapy professionals and will help the team reach many more children with these services.
Hope Speaks has gone beyond that and also includes hosting other groups who help with projects, food for families, children's day camps, and going and serving in the slums of Kampala.
Every donation is prayerfully and thankfully appreciated and is pivotal in enabling me to be present and walk alongside these children with disabilities watch God move as He grows each of us on the team and those being impacted by the team. The financial goal as a college student is grand and wildly intimidating but through months of praying over this trip and the Lord's kind hand placing it in front of me, I am confident in trusting Him to provide using His people. Every penny is so very appreciated and contributes to everything between airfare, housing, meals, etc. If you are able or unable to give I would be so grateful if you would pass along the information or share this with others who may want to participate!
Thank you so so much for playing a role in mine and God's greater story in your prayer and/or financial gifts towards this opportunity! I am truly believing something beautiful over this summer and cannot wait to put together passions of mine and put into practice all I have learned specific to my career at the University of Tennessee. Thank you thank you all you do and all you are. This life is so much bigger than us!
